Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale

Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale, PVSM AVSM VM was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in June 1968 in fighter stream and has seen active operations during the 1971 Indo-Pak hostilities on both Eastern and Western fronts. His operational assignments include command of a front line fighter squadron in which he took active part in the SiachenOperations and command of a premier airbase during the Kargil Operations. He has served as Flying Instructor in Iraq from 1977 to 1979 and as the Defence Adviser at Indian Embassy in Egypt from 1994 to 1998. He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College and is M Sc, M Phil from Madras University. He is also an alumnus of the Air War College, USA and a Fellow of Aeronautical Society of India. He was the Vice Chief of Air Staff at Air Headquarters prior to his retirement on 31st December 2007.

On retirement, Air Marshal Gokhale has been appointed Consultant to the Principle Scientific Adviser to the GOI and also to DRDO. For his post retirement contribution in the Indigenous development of Strategic systems and those for Low Intensity Conflict, he was awarded the prestigious Agni award on the National Technology Day 2013. In May 2010, he was detailed as the Chairman with full judicial powers, to investigate into the tragic Air India Express accident at Mangalore in which 158 lives were lost.

Dr. Alam advises The Dialogue on India’s economic policy. He is a Senior Consultant and Coordinator of the UNFPA sponsored research project Building a Knowledge Base on Population Ageing India (BKPAI) at IEG, Delhi. He has more than 42 years of experience in research, teaching, project planning, project coordination, designing and organizing field surveys. He was a National Consultant in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Health (Government of India) from 1983 to 1985 and has published 5 books more than 90 research papers.

Lieutenant General (Retd.) Raj Kadyan

He is a war veteran and post retirement founded the Indian Ex Servicemen Movement (IESM) for the welfare of retired Indian defence personnel. He has been long advocating for OROP and is a leading authority on strategic affairs and defence studies in India.

Ambassador Punchok Stobden

Ambassador P. Stobdan is a distinguished academician, diplomat, author and national security expert. He is a specialist on Asian affairs covering Central Asia and Inner Asia, including Xinjiang, Tibet, Myanmar and the Himalayan region. He has written extensively on a wide range of security-related subjects in a number of professional journals on strategic affairs, books and newspapers both in India and abroad. He has also served as Joint Director in the Indian National Security Council.

Professor Sumit Ganguly

Sumit Ganguly is a Professor of Political Science, the Director of the India Studies Program and holds the Rabindranath Tagore Chair in Indian Cultures and Civilizations at Indiana University, Bloomington. A specialist on the international politics of South Asia, he is the author, co-author, editor, co-editor of twenty books on the region. Professor Ganguly has been a Guest Scholar and Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, a Visiting fellow at the Center for International Security and Cooperation, and a Visiting Fellow at the Center of Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law at Stanford University.

Shamnad Basheer

shamnad-basheer-150x150rof (Dr) Shamnad Basheer is currently the Honorary Research Chair of IP Law at Nirma University and a visiting professor of law at the National Law School (NLS), Bangalore. He is also the Founder of IDIA, a project to train underprivileged students for admissions to the leading law schools. He served for two years as an expert on the IP global advisory council (GAC) of the World Economic Forum (WEF). In 2015, he received the Infosys Prize in Humanities in 2015 for his work on legal education and on democratising the discourse around intellectual property law and policy. He is the Founder of Spicy IP – India’s leading digital platform on IP law and policy. Prof Basheer has published widely and his articles have won awards, including those instituted by ATRIP and the Stanford Technology Law Review. He is consulted widely by the government, industry, international organisations and civil society on a variety of IP issues. He also serves on several government committees.

Dr. Ramaswami Balasubramaniam is a development scholar, author, public policy advocate, leadership trainer and activist, known for his pioneering development work with rural and tribal people in Saragur of Heggadadevana kote taluk, near Mysore in Karnataka, India. He is the Founder & President of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), a development organization and also the Founder & Chairman of Grassroots Research And Advocacy Movement (GRAAM).
 
He was the Frank H T Rhodes Professor at Cornell University between 2012 to 2014, and continues to hold academic positions in other universities. His latest book ‘i, the citizen’ is a compilation of narratives and reflections of a development activist and is popular amongst development practitioners, academicians and policy makers. Sujoy Chakravorty

Sujoy Chakravarty received his Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University in 2002. Since then he has been teaching and conducting research at institutions such as the University of Texas at Dallas, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University. His main research interests are in Behavioural Economics and its application in the fields of Development and Public Policy. His research has been published in various international peer reviewed journals in the fields of Economics and Management.

badripic1Dr. Badri Narayanan is an economist, with three affiliations currently:Consultant, Global Economics Research, McKinsey Company; Economist, School of Environmental and Forestry Sciences,  University of Washington-Seattle; Co-founder and Partner, Infinite-Sum Modelling Inc.
His broad expertise lies in the area of policy and strategy analysis in relation to economic, management, industrial, labor, energy/environmental and health issues, both from economic and inter-disciplinary perspectives, employing a variety of quantitative models. Several of his models capture global supply chain economics as well as linkages among countries and industries from a holistic, dynamic perspective. These models employ data-founded and realistic approaches, involving a combination of optimization, applied mathematics, simulation and statistical regressions, to make futuristic predictions and forecasts..
